We are part of the Glasgow High Kelvinside family of sports clubs which are all based at Old Anniesland, the sports grounds of the High School of Glasgow. We welcome female players of all abilities and there is no need to be linked to either Kelvinside Academy or HSOG. Our Juniors section also accommodates boys as well as girls. We are focussed on playing great hockey and having lots of fun at the same time.
Our club colours are blue and white tops with a navy skort and blue, green and white striped socks. White tops and white socks are worn for away matches. Every player is allocated a player number that follows them through the club. Contact to request a number. Our kit is provided through PSL sport.
We have four teams with our 1st XI playing in National League 1. Our 2nd XI plays in National Championship Division 3. Our other two teams play in the West District League, our 3rd XI in Division 2 and 4th XI in Division 3. This means we are able to offer games at all levels!
COACHING AND DEVELOPMENT
We offer coaching to a variety of different ages and abilities.
Last season was an unprecedented year and for the forthcoming season, training at GHK will remain a little different from previous years. In line with guidance from the Scottish Government, SHU and Sport Scotland the club is making every effort to develop a series of training options for players at all levels.
We hope to begin to a phased return to a more standard hockey season this year, with 1/2 XI pre-season commencing in July and all other sections restarting from August. Our Junior and Inters sections will continue in a series of training blocks which worked well over the last season. For senior teams, training structuring will depend on an assessment of the COVID regulations in August.
